Our Note: Humility begets respect, which begets honor… demand either of the last two and you have forsaken the first. Save for in the military, no one’s will is ever to be demanded in the Christian-Judeo world.
We did not agree with Jesse Jackson many times. However, his decisiveness and forbearance about what he believed in made him famous, whether or not people liked him. He is due his respect, though he was not humble.
Obama, Clinton, Biden, and Harris did NOT give Jesse that respect, nor did they accord him any honor.
Anyone disrespecting a son’s honorable request for their deceased father deserves not to be respected or honored. Period.
In a speech following the service, Jackson Jr claimed Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden did “not know” his father.
“Yesterday I listened for several hours to three United States presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson,” Jackson Jr said.
“He maintained a tense relationship with the political order, not because the presidents were White or Black, but the demands of our message, the demands of speaking for the least of these — those who are disinherited, the damned, the dispossessed, the disrespected — demanded not Democratic or Republican solutions, but demanded a consistent, prophetic voice that at no point in time sold us out as a people.”
