ADDENDUM
The sources noted for the story below are the FBI and LiveNOW from FOX; we learned from Kerri Lane that the original sources are ABC News and Gavin Newsom. She led the news last night with this story (click here) and provided the following content…
From the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt…
The following is the report the FBI sent to the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF)…
ABC News decided to ignore the critical clarification “unverified” and went with the story, deliberately omitting the word “unverified“. As a result, the story dominoed…
What we do know is that many Iranian drones are capable of long-range operations, with some Shahed-class drones reaching ranges of up to 2,000 kilometers (1,250 miles).
Specifically, the Shahed-136, a one-way attack drone, has a reported range of at least 2,000 kilometers.
The Shahed-131, a smaller munition, has a range of 700 to 900 kilometers.
Also, the newer Mohajer-10, an advanced version of the Mohajer series of UAVs, is reportedly capable of 24 hours of flight time and a maximum operating radius of 2,500 kilometers.
The fact that the Iranian Navy is sitting at the bottom of the ocean right now hardly means the drones could not be used - it would not be beyond one of Iran’s remaining allies to launch the Iranian drones offshore and fly them below radar (under 50 feet). The drones are one-way, meaning once launched, they are guided by whatever programming has been planted in them - there is no communication to correct course.
Not knowing that ABC News had manipulated the JTTF report, and given the information above, we decided to publish the report.
Another factor that weighed in on publishing this stroy are the 20+ jihadist training camps that were established in the lower 48 during the Obama administration - there has been no reporting of their being dismantled under Trump’s first administration.
There is also the heightened alert about sleeper cells we considered.
All these points go back to ABC News pulling a very stupid stunt.
In the past, we did not use MSM as a source for breaking stories, but we did add their observations later if the story turned out to be true. We have modified our policy to eliminate anything from ABC News for consideration until we see a change in management for the better.
Our apologies for publishing this story - we can do better.
Federal authorities warned California law enforcement that Iran reportedly aspired to launch a surprise drone attack against targets in the state from a vessel at sea.
The intelligence suggests the threat emerged in early February as Iran prepared for potential U.S. and Israeli military strikes.
Officials currently lack specific details regarding the exact timing, targets, or perpetrators of the alleged plot, describing the information as "cautionary."
Gov. Gavin Newsom said at a news conference that he's aware of the apparent threat of Iranian drone strikes on California.
"Drone issues have always been top of mind," Newsom said.
"As it relates to drone strikes, we have been aware of that information," he said.
"We have been working collaboratively through the (operations center), which we established right after the war began — the State Operations Center. Working with the Office of Emergency Services, but also working locally to make sure we transmit any information that we have received."
LiveNOW's Andy Mac spoke about the threat with retired police sergeant Ashton Packe.
