And this is just the start…
President Trump’s selection is definitely much sharper this term than his first.
Senate Leadership Is McConnell 2.0
The selection of South Dakota’s Senator John Thune is the most non-surprise event since the elections.
McConnell, never a true Patriot’s favorite, has been embracing China so much it was hard to tell who gave his oath to.
If anything McConnell is the poster child for the definition of RINO and not for leadership - for that he was only a talking head.
The furniture has changed but it is the same room for the Senate Leadership.
Here is what Thune is up against - this is a map of how each country in the USA voted…
Thune was never much of a Trump supporter until it looked like Trump was going to win to those who were not following Trump closely then suddenly, as predicted in 2021 by The Last Refuge Thune shifted to being a Trump supporter.
As for MAGA, Thune still has a disdain - which is a shame as there is not a county in the USA there are not MAGA people.
Thune may have won the oh-so-secret vote of the Senate for the Leadership role but he has also won the disdain of every MAGA person...
When MAGA is not seeing results that are centric to We the People, well... Good luck with that, whether you name is Thune or not.
The Senate had the perfect opportunity to unite with the President - and though Trump did provide the obligatory congratulations public mess for Thune’s win, that only put the onus on Thune to perform as MAGA and Trump expects.
OOPS
The topic of this secret ballot gained a LOT of attention on social media - the forum where a lot of voices are taking to and the same forum wise politicians would at least listen to.
Not McConnel
Not Thune
Not Cornyn
But Rick Scott does
Rick Scott listens a lot, Thune dictates a lot.
The first thing you learn as a competent leader is to command your audience - for once you make demands of it, then you will get what you want but you will have lost the trust you built while commanding.
Truthfully, though we are not privy to all Thune says, what we have been privy to is the reason we did not back him in the first place - too much demanding, not enough commanding.
Most of MAGA feels the same way…
Now, Thune has placed himself under a daily inspection for the next 4 years by MAGA - and you can bet he is going to be blaming MAGA for his problems and not the person who is creating them in the first place.
Thune himself.
