You are right, thanks to Ottawa's disposition for the past 15+ years, the downside is almost non-existent... Alberta, especially - they have been literally keeping Canada afloat, and thanks to Trudeau and now Carney, all they get in return is stiffer regulations and heavier taxes. Add to that the favoritism for separating is, at a minimum, 55%
