We Owe Our Lives To Those In the Military Who Gave Theirs
I know some will squawk at this title, but I also know they are the first to demand action of others (not of themselves) when their own lives are at stake
I and many others lost a few friends in the Vietnam War, and years later gained a few Vietnamese friends - for me, THAT was a hurdle I knew I had to get over, and it took stepping back to do so.
Lord knows, I was bitter - I also knew it was not the fault of the Vietnamese trying to make friends with me.
My Vietnamese friends are very good friends, very good at what they do, and they have a love for America like none other.
Too bad our politicians - local, state, and federal; then AND now - do not have that same intensity, decisiveness, and priority of love for our country.
They have instilled their love for our country into their children - some are in the military, some are officers in the military, some are running for political office.
Almost all are business owners. their spouses or engagement, taking care of business while the significant other served their tour in the military.
They make sure life is always moving forward, no matter the circumstance.
To my friends and the friends of others who were able to come home from Vietnam, thanks to the Democrat party and RINOs, there was no honor, no thanks.
To avoid fights, they had to keep quiet.
Thank God today that is no longer the case.
Congress would never declare Vietnam a war, keeping it categorized as a conflict.
That difference made life on the battlefield worse than it had to be, all for the sake of the political egos in Congress, some of whom are still elected today.
We have called our blog Decisive Liberty for that very reason - if we are not going to be decisive about our Liberty, then every soldier who gave the greatest love they could ever give, whether in the Arlington National Cemetery or elsewhere, in every battle of all our wars, was for naught.
They need to be constantly remembered until our own Judgement Day.
"It's not because things are difficult that we do not dare,
It is because we do not dare that things are difficult" ~ Seneca
"In ourselves, our safety must be sought.
By our own right hand it must be wrought"
~ William Wordsworth, November 1806
Greater love has no one than this,
than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:3
