US Industrial Complex Is Buckling
Thanks to the Build Back America program that is only destroying America
Workers at the 2nd largest aluminum mill in America, accounting for 20% of US supply, learned they were losing their jobs last month because the plant can’t afford an electricity tab that’s tripled in a matter of months.
Globally, US goods are highly regarded due to their quality - electricity globally is at least twice what is is in the U.S.
Add the country’s taxes to the products and it is easy to see why foreign goods are usually costly as well as frail in construction.
Which is why goods from the U.S. have much better quality - as long as the Democrats keep their hands off our energy costs and taxes, which with both Obama and Biden they haven’t (and quite intentionally as well).
In Brazil, where we currently live for now, the metals are so soft when a pan falls to the floor it is bent out of shape.
Forget plastic products, they break under my hand with ease - those that don’t dry up and become brittle within a year.
And we’re not talking inexpensive items either.
Almost anything of quality here is an import - accompanied by a 1000% tariff as well as the local State and Federal tax that ranges from 20 to 60%.
On average, for every 1 item we buy here we can buy 3 to 5 of the same item in the U.S., including household appliances and cars.
Electricity for a Brazilian costs twice as much as it does an American though an American in Brazil can quite easily afford the cost as the purchasing power per money unit is the same in both countries* however R$1 (Reis, pronounced HEE-ice) is about 19 cents in the States at the time of this post.
Obama did the same thing - jacked up energy costs and tried to convince everyone the manufacturing jobs can only come back if Trump waved a magic wand.
Of course Trump didn’t have to wave any magic wand, what he did was negotiated with the companies - something Obama and Biden know nothing about.
The impact of the aluminum industry being impacted like this will be felt until Trump, De Santis, or other top conservative and business savvy politician wins in 2024 - most likely it will be Trump, otherwise his opposition wouldn’t be trying so hard to take him out of the game.
Thing is, they never learn - every time they have tried this in the past, and they are still trying now and he only gets stronger…
And so didn’t we…
*example, the salaries of workers is roughly equivalent in both countries - if an accountant makes $55,000 in the U.S., the same position and responsibilities in Brazil will be near the same at R$55,000
