The Unemployment Rate Is Steady at 3.7%...
Or, so says the branch of government that can’t track anyone unless they are working or participating in an unemployment program
The U.S. economy reportedly added 353,000 jobs in January, far more than the expected 187,000.
December numbers revised up from 216,000 to 333,000 jobs.
Unemployment rate steady at 3.7%.
Or, so says the branch of government that can’t track anyone unless they are working or participating in an unemployment program.
To be counted among the U.S. government’s headline unemployed (U.3), an individual has to have looked actively for work within the 4 weeks prior to the unemployment survey conducted for the Bureau of Labor Statistic (BLS).
If the active search for work was in the last year, but not in the last four weeks, the individual is considered a “discouraged worker” by the BLS, and not counted in the headline labor force.
Once your benefits from said programs run out, or if you have enough saved to not bother with said programs, you - in essence - do not exist and are therefore not part of the statistics they pump out monthly.
Also, if you are under-employed - working a job below your skill level - you are counted as working, even if for only 28 hours a week.
If you are working 2 jobs, well, you are counted twice…
As we just noted, each count is just a working body at a job - no accounting is made for skill levels being met nor if you are working more than one job.
As for the size of the eligible workforce nationally, they rely on the latest census to know how many of us are between the ages of 18 and 65.
Remember, the Democrats and RINOs want illegal immigrants counted in the census as well - not separately, but in the whole pool that many other government agencies rely upon.
Obama did the same thing during his administration - finagled the figures and definitions until it painted a picture more palatable to his liking and not to our reality.
It’s called, muddying up the river…
Now, let’s look at the economy taking in those and several other factors and compare it to the government stats…
A detailed explanation of how John Williams tracks unemployment can be found here.
He hasn’t changed definitions or methods for more than 2 decades and the changes that were made were to provide a clearer picture to reality and not to government policy or political whims.
Seems the Biden administration is doing everything it can to get people to lack any level of faith in the government, even at the most minimal functional levels - and doing so quite intentionally.
Both Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and the Cloward-Piven Strategy are the guides for the Democrat party as well as Socialist and Muslim governments worldwide (thanks to Obama teaching the Muslim Brotherhood both).
The overall gist of both - create a disaster and provide a solution.
Too bad too many people are awake of such tactics and strategies.
