UPDATE 7 Jul 2025 6 pm CT via Nick Sortor, X.com: The deathtoll from catastrophic flooding here in the Texas Hill Country has surpassed 100, per authorities. Several victims are still missing. Local, state, and federal crews are still working around the clock. They are NOT giving up here!

Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan saved 165 lives in the Texas flash floods.
The 26-year-old, a former KPMG accountant, directed Army Blackhawk 60s and MH-65s to survivors and helped get them to safety, according to the New York Post.
“Ruskan spearheaded a high-risk rescue mission under the worst possible environmental conditions, which in the end saw 165 brought to safety,” the NYP reported.
“I’m just doing a job,” he told the NYP.
“This is what I signed up for, and I think that any single Coast Guard rescue swimmer or any single Coast Guard pilot, flight mechanic, whoever it may be, would have done the exact same thing in our situation.
“That’s what we were asked to do and we’re gonna do it. Any one of us, if anyone else was on duty that day, they would have done the same thing as us.
“We just happened to be the crew that got the case.”

The Texas National Guard has successfully rescued a total of 520 victims from the floods
This includes a MASSIVE 361 air evacuations by UH-60 Blackhawks, and 159 rescues with ground assets.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem reveals U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer and Petty Officer Scott Ruskin SAVED an ASTONISHING 165 victims from the catastrophic flooding in Central Texas.

Camp Mystic. Camp Mystic offers an all-girls Christian private summer camp. It is located in Hunt, TX known as the Texas Hill Country.
As of 6 July 10 pm CT, the following have not yet been found.

Camp Mystic still missing: 10 girls, 1 camp counselor. 68 confirmed not to have made it: 40 adults & 28 children.
Pending identification: 18 adults, 10 children.

Keep the rescuers in your prayers as well. Cannot imagine what it is like to be continuously coming across dead animals and an occasional body. Started this post as a tribute to all, and it has become the most difficult post I have had to put together... Deceased or alive, they are all in God's hands, and may God have mercy on any souls that may have intentionally caused this flood.
