In July 2025, destructive and deadly Flooding took place in the Texas Hill Country, particularly in Kerr County, in the State of Texas.
During the flooding, water levels along the Guadalupe River rose rapidly.
The region is reeling from the catastrophic flooding that has killed at least 132 people.
At the time of this post, more than 160 people are still missing.
More than a summer's worth of rain fell in Kerr County overnight on July 3rd and into the following, swelling the Guadalupe River and turning the beloved waterway into a deadly Torrent.
What caused the Texas Flooding in 2025?
The Flooding was caused by a Mesoscale Convective Vortex with enhanced tropical moisture from the remnants of a short-lived tropical storm Barry.
Why is Texas Flooding so much?
Climate Scientists say the conditions brought on by warmer Temperatures likely exacerbated the recent Floods in Texas's Kerr County, which shattered a century-old record.
It could take weeks or even months to locate the more than 160 people believed to be missing after the Deadly Floods in Central Texas over the 4th of July weekend.
Search efforts can be painstakingly slow because piled-up debris has to be carefully removed.
As awful as this might be to even imagine, when it's rushing water, it can take people away from where they would normally be or where they would normally live, sometimes even miles.
Could that be one of the reasons why the number of people still missing is so high days after the Flooding?
Many families are facing the grim reality that some of the missing may not be found, and the focus has shifted towards providing closure for families.
Rescue teams, including those in helicopters, boats, and drones, have been searching for people, but the search has been interrupted by new Flooding.
As hope for finding survivors diminishes, the focus has shifted to providing support and closure for families.
Many families have publicly shared their grief and the Impact of the Tragedy, with statements about the loss of loved ones and the struggle to cope with the aftermath.
It's sad, upsetting, unfair, cruel, and heartbreaking what happened to all of these people who are now sadly gone, but all we can hope is that they are now at Peace in the Afterlife.
May God keep them all safe in his arms.
Rest in Heavenly Peace to all of those people who are now gone.
