RedState Author Makes A HUGE Misinterpretation of Our Constitution
And as a result, he owes Kerry Lake and the general populace an apology as well does Gov. Doug Ducey...
Not that we would expect any humility coming from either as both RedState and Governor Ducey have already invested much time, energy, and effort into misinterpreting what our Constitution says, what We the People can and cannot do, and what our States say they can and cannot do.
In his recent post in RedState "Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey Slams Gubernatorial Candidate Over Border — and He's Right" (link) [archive], author Cameron Arcand justifies his ‘reasoning’ in the following way...
The role of the state government is limited when it comes to border security, and skirting the federal government is not going to change that. In fact, it will only make things worse and could lead to retaliatory actions against Arizona.
We challenge that statement - and are quite sure we are not the only ones doing so...
The separation of powers between the Federal and States is quite clear in our constitution...
From VoteSmart.org on State Government powers, the 10th Amendment declares,
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
Meaning, states have all powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution.
These powers have taken many different forms. States must take responsibility for areas such as:
ownership of property
education of inhabitants
implementation of welfare and other benefits programs and distribution of aid
protecting people from local threats
maintaining a justice system
setting up local governments such as counties and municipalities
maintaining state highways and setting up the means of administrating local roads
regulation of industry
raising funds to support their activities
In many areas, states have a large role but also share administrative responsibility with local and federal governments (such as intersate highways).
Protecting U.S. citizens from local threats is being defaulted from the federal government to our states by Biden's total lack of action to stop the influx of millions of ILLEGAL immigrants, most of whom have not been vetted for their criminal, personal, and health history.
Article 1, Section 10 [archive] of our Constitution ends with the following limitation of State powers but does provide examples of when these limitations can be overridden...
No state shall, without the consent of Congress, lay any duty of tonnage, keep troops, or ships of war in time of peace, enter into any agreement or compact with another state, or with a foreign power, or engage in war, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit of delay.
If the Liberals and RINOs want to debate whether we are being invaded then let them debate - but they have shown for more than 6 decades they are incapable of debating but prefer being politically correct instead. This means they are shading their intentions that do nothing but water down the dangerous situations going on at our borders - which is why political correctness is always used by them, so to water down the reality of a situation because they don’t want to offend feelings, that is the most fickle of human traits.
Good God, man was created with a strong soul - if it is weak it wasn’t God that made it that way. You damn well can’t expect to sharpen a knife on a sponge yet Liberals and RINOs expect exactly this.
Due to this political correctness by the Liberals and RINOs, ILLEGAL immigrants are being flown and bused all over our country. Many to sanctuary cities, many not. Either way, NONE of the cities knows they are arriving until they have been dropped off at a bus stop someplace or arrived at their airports.
The demeanor alone tips the Liberals and RINOs cards to the fact they KNOW what they are doing will meet resistance by We the People who are going to have to foot the bill for the ILLEGAL immigrants’ presence in their city.
Before all this, for every 9 families, they were supporting 2 to 3 families that were out of work - with the disastrous ripple effects of Bidenomics causing record-high inflation, record-high unemployment across the board, disappearing manufacturing jobs, small businesses closing shop then throwing the ILLEGAL immigrants into the towns, those 9 families are now supporting FIVE families instead of 2 or 3...
And most can't even support their OWN families.
Those living within 100 miles of the border are now armed as scores, even thousands of people are walking across their land at night, and now even during the day - leaving trash behind, destroying vegetation to have their food, breaking pipes and barn structures. Local law enforcement is overwhelmed that calls take hours for a response - and the coyotes and those in the band of ILLEGAL immigrants know this. Locals dare not go out at night so as not to be caught up in a group of ILLEGAL immigrants whose reactions and behaviors are defensive in a land that is not even theirs.
Mr. Arcand is way out of line with his assessment of our Constitution as well as totally out of touch with the realities of what is going on at the border, and Kerri Lake deserves an apology from them as well as the readers of RedState.
Mr. Arcand does need to be congratulated though as he proved Denzel Washington correct once again…
If you don’t read the press you are uninformed, if you read the press you are misinformed.
We live in a society where who cares, get it out there, we don’t care who it hurts, we don’t care who is destroyed, we don’t even care if it is true. Just say it sell it

We the People are informed by doing what most so-called professional journalists don’t - consult with others and research original source documents, like our Constitution.
We don’t have timelines or revenue to be concerned about - just our future, and that of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
So we want to get the story right - and correct those that will open the door to harm’s way.
We weren’t always this way as we made the mistake of placing our trust in the wrong resources due to convenience and voices that made us feel good.
Now, we are taking that trust back and placing it with ourselves, no matter what Mr. Arcand’s or any other so-called reporting platform says.
We are growing very quickly in numbers and in strength - just ask CNN+, CNN, and MSNBC who can’t even get enough views to surpass YouTube political pundit Mark Dice…
Those choosing to ignore our voice, well - they have set their own course, and we have set ours.
And history has shown ours is always on the winning side for good character, longevity, Liberty, and freedom.
In all fairness to Mr. Arcand, we agree with most of his articles - but his latest post [archive] was so far out there we had to comment.
