Kristi Noem is NOT fired, she is reappointed as Special Envoy to the Shields of the Americas, which will be announced Saturday (probably our own Iron Dome? We’ll know soon enough).

Mullin, 48, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He previously served 10 years in the United States House of Representatives before being elected to the U.S. Senate in a special election in 2022 to fill a vacancy, taking office on January 3, 2023.

He is also an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, making him the first Native American U.S. Senator since 2005.

Mullin's background includes taking over his father's plumbing business at age 20 and expanding it, as well as founding other companies.

President Trump lauded Mullin as a "MAGA Warrior" and a former undefeated professional MMA fighter, highlighting his ability to work well with people and his understanding of advancing the "America First Agenda."

Trump stated that Mullin's focus would be on securing the border, preventing migrant crime, and stopping the illegal entry of drugs and criminals into the country.

Markwayne is married with children.

Our Note: This is not the first such move by President Trump, and if history repeats itself, the Democrats are going to wish Kristi Noem remained as Secretary of Homeland Security.

What Is a Special Envoy?

A special envoy is an agent appointed as a personal representative by a president or secretary of state to address a specific issue, often in a foreign country or in relation to a particular region or challenge.

These high-level representatives are tasked with specific diplomatic missions, including negotiating peace treaties, fostering economic partnerships, and addressing complex multilateral issues that may fall outside the typical scope of an ambassador.

Special envoys are frequently appointed in response to congressional or public attention concerning a specific region or issue.

The responsibilities and mandates of special envoys vary and can be adjusted to meet the administration’s needs or the specific issues they are addressing.

While some special envoy positions, like the Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism, may require Senate confirmation, many others do not.

The role is designed to allow for more focused attention and effort on a particular issue than might otherwise be possible within existing diplomatic structures.

Examples of special envoy appointments include

- Steve Whitkoff as the special envoy to the Middle East

- Mauricio Claver-Carone for Latin America

- General Keith Kellogg for Russian-Ukrainian issues

- Yehuda Kaplan as the US special envoy to combat antisemitism.

Other nations also appoint special envoys, such as the UK Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan, and Prince Andrew previously served as Britain’s special representative for trade and investment.
