Democrats Still not Learning Policy Does Not Equate to Efficiency, Effectiveness
How Senator Kennedy used that one stupidity to stop the hemorrhaging of funds to medical research
Overview
The bottom line of everything happening in government with this administration is a fight of enablement vs empowerment. One party want to give a lifeline to enablement while the other is commanding a way of life that focuses on empowerment. The Senate Hearing yesterday (20 May 2025) only brought this to the forefront and still those wanting enablement tried to keep giving a lifeline to a way that does nothing but suck the life out of our country. During yesterday’s Senate hearing, the Democrats’ narrative on HHS budget cuts was putting RFK Jr. under heavy fire.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. went head-to-head with Senate Democrats over major proposed budget cuts, including $18 billion slashed from the NIH and $3.6 billion from the CDC.
For many Democrats, you’d think it was the end of the world.
They did what they have been doing for decades - controlling the narrative to make any reduction look like it was going to cost lives, all whilst ignoring and never discussing the quality of the research as well as the mismanagement of the federal funds received.
Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) led the charge, slamming Kennedy for a $3 billion drop in federally funded biomedical research compared to last year. Kennedy stood his ground.
“We’re cutting waste, we’re cutting duplicative programs,” he said.
Still, Baldwin wouldn’t let up.
She framed the loss of “3,200 fewer grants” as an attack on “life-saving programs.”
Kennedy hit back with a devastating stat.
“We spend 70% of the world’s biomedical research out of NIH. 70%. And we’re the sickest country in the world,” he said. “We’ve had a 38% increase in our agency growth over the past four years,” he added.
“That money has not been well spent.”
The exchange summed up a broader dynamic…
Democrats trying to paint RFK Jr. as a villain, slashing life-saving science, while Kennedy pointed out that America’s health is declining because of how this money is being spent, not despite it.
Something the democrats ALWAYS bury - to them, any project hemorrhaging funds is a mute point, and throwing more money at a problem is always their response.
Why Money Doesn't Solve Problems
Throwing more money at a problem often fails to solve it because it does not address
the underlying issues, or
the lack of a proper strategy
For instance, a pre-revenue startup spent 10s of 1000s of dollars on vendors to build a website, but the project ran over budget and the client was unhappy with the result.
Similarly, an entrepreneur who increased their advertising budget to boost sales found that throwing money at the problem did not solve the underlying issue with their marketing campaign.
Experts suggest that throwing money at a problem without a clear plan can be counterproductive.
Instead, it's crucial to first understand the problem and then determine whether spending money is the best solution.
For example, the Wright brothers succeeded in creating the first piloted aircraft with a shoestring budget, relying on innovation and perseverance rather than financial resources.
Moreover, throwing money at a problem can be a reactionary response, often driven by a lack of time or resources to consider alternative solutions.
This approach can lead to further complications and does not guarantee a resolution.
Great Policy Does Not Equate to Great Strategy
The government is an expert at one thing and one thing only - creating policy.
When it comes to strategy, some politicians have learned to let private enterprise deal with that, while others - ESPECIALLY Democrats - want to control everything, whilst ignoring anything related to funds.
Quality doesn’t matter
Accountability doesn’t matter
Responsibility doesn’t matter
Only the level of funds feeding their pet projects
Why?
They believe they can always fix their problems by pouring more money into it, even printing it if they have to (which is a policy that has been proven multiple times to be HIGHLY inflationary).
If the strategy lacks integrity in the first place, more money is going to amplify and magnify the lack of integrity of the strategy.
It’s like fueling a plane in flight that is going to crash - unless the navigation of the plane changes course.
Most politicians never change the course of a problem - they just want more money.
DOGE, Trump, RFK Jr are changing the flight and the Democrats don’t like it as it wasn’t their idea.
I get to say this as I was once affiliated with the Democratic party while starting a consultancy business - they almost annihilated my business before it even started due to their ineptness in creating a proper and effective strategy.
Needless to say, they lost my affiliation in short order.
Back to the Senate Hearing and Senator John Kennedy…
While the Democrats were trying to paint RFK Jr. as a villain, slashing life-saving science, Kennedy pointed out that America’s health is declining because of how this money is being spent, not despite it.
Then Sen. Kennedy stepped up his claims and OBLITERATED the Democrats narrative with nothing but a few simple questions - and hit a grand slam.
This exchange flipped the whole hearing on its head.
Just like that, Sen John Kennedy not only put a smile on Kennedy’s face but also torched the “budget cuts kill people” narrative and exposed how bloated spending has failed the very people it’s meant to help.
From that moment on, the Democratic outrage fell apart.
The narrative had already been flipped, and everyone in the room knew it.

Closing Note
Being selective about what to focus on has its advantages in many aspects of life.
But when that focus is shifted to intentionally redirect from a problem, that is manipulation.
And as many who have fallen victim to their ways, the Democrat party has been manipulating the people for way too long.
Welfare has GENERATIONS of families on their payouts - generations of families have been enabled to remain on welfare, from grandmother to grandchild, never knowing what true independence means…
Welfare is not supposed to be a way of life, it is supposed to be a safety net while you get your life in order.
The Democratic party is HEAVY on enablement; empowerment, to them, leaves them in a weaker position when in reality it does just the opposite.
Enablement versus Empowerment
Enablement often involves providing assistance that inadvertently or advertantly perpetuates dependency or dysfunction.
This can occur when the support prevents the individual from developing the necessary skills or facing the consequences of their actions.
For instance, a parent who consistently completes their child's homework is enabling the child's reliance on external help, rather than encouraging self-sufficiency.
Enabling can leave both parties in a more helpless state, as the individual may become dependent on the support and fail to develop the necessary life skills, and the giver must continue to provide, even for generations.
Empowerment, on the other hand, involves providing support and resources that help individuals develop the skills and confidence to achieve their goals independently.
It fosters self-reliance, self-respect, and personal growth.
For example, a mentor who teaches a mentee how to solve problems on their own is empowering them.
Empowerment leaves both the giver and the receiver in a stronger position, as the individual gains the tools and knowledge to handle challenges on their own and the giver is now free to assist others just as effectively andeconomically.
Remember all this whenever ANY politician is promising anything - how they intend to build their policy over that promise is just as important to what they are promising.
If they can’t provide details to how they intend to build their policy in a way of empowerment, then their policy will suck the life out of our country by enabling those who embrace it.
