As Threat Perception Shifts, Kash’s FBI Targets Swatting Surge
Swatting is VERY DANGEROUS to those finding themselves a target - a top level sense of urgency is needed to rectify this situation at ALL levels: investigative and judicial, in all jurisdictions
The FBI’s recent intervention is timely as swatting incidents classified as domestic terrorism rise, leaving the public and influential figures on edge.
Quick Takes
FBI investigates increasing swatting cases under Kash Patel’s leadership.
Swatting misuses emergency services with false reports, potentially endangering lives.
Prominent conservative figures are frequent swatting targets.
Legislative interest grows in harsher penalties for swatting.
Rise of Swatting Incidents
The frequency of swatting incidents has sharply increased, prompting the FBI to prioritize targeted investigations.
Under Director Kash Patel’s guidance, these incidents have been aimed at conservative media figures and influencers.
The tactic involves falsely reporting emergencies to dispatch police to unsuspecting homes.
Chase Geiser, an InfoWars host, experienced 2 such events within 12 hours, highlighting the psychological and physical risks involved.

At least 10 swatting cases were documented last Thursday (13 March 2025), reflecting an alarming trend.
Those targeted include public figures like Joe Pagliarulo, who recorded a man with a rifle outside his home.
If I had grabbed my AR-15 and walked out the front door, or my pistol and walked out the front door, I would have been dead in my doorway
Pagliarulo noted the potentially deadly consequences.
FBI’s Approach to Combat Threat
The FBI is acutely aware of the threat swatting poses and classifies these actions as domestic terrorism.
Director Kash Patel is actively coordinating with local law enforcement to address these threats and hold offenders accountable.
He emphasized that
“…weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers.”
“The FBI is aware of this dangerous trend, and my team and I are already taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable,” said Patel.
Despite the ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made yet, a point of concern for affected individuals and legislators alike.
Republican Senator Mike Lee pushed for stronger policies, suggesting that those behind such actions be prosecuted for attempted murder due to the severity of potential outcomes.
Protective Measures and Legislative Interest
The Department of Homeland Security advises high-risk individuals to strengthen ties with local law enforcement.
Such steps are crucial as figures like Catturd, a pro-Trump social media account, reported being swatted 4 times.
Another family has been swatted more than 40 times - they no longer feel any sanctity in their home.
The FBI remains committed to updating the public as investigations progress and implementing measures that curb this dangerous trend.
The deceptive nature of swatting and its increasing occurrence across high-profile targets have spurred a greater legislative push for punitive measures to prevent the misuse of emergency services.
Until then, communities remain vigilant as law enforcement continues to adapt to these modern challenges.

Our Note
Along with noting the defensive and offensive means to counter swatting in your home, it would be an excellent idea to play out such a situation in your home.
Before you do, though, it would be highly recommended that you either ask your police department what you should expect or, if possible, have a police officer assist you with how to play out a swatting.
We tend to respond based upon familiarity and being swatted without knowing what to do and how to do it could end up in injury, or worse, death.
A family we follow on X was recently swatting, and thank God they are very active in their community (a definite proactive step to future problems) as the first responding officer defused the situation when the wife answered the door - she was the target of the prank call saying she was murdered.
The family and the officer had been known to each other through the family's community involvement - a definite plus in a future tense situation such as a swatting.
Joe Pags offers several tips to defuse as well as means to protect yourself, so be sure to take notes.
If you have been involved in a swatting, please do share your experiences on your social media accounts - whether it be once or more, this will raise awareness as well as demands for a sense of urgency in your community.
