3 People Are Still Missing from the Deadly July 4th Floods in Kerr County TX

On July 19, the Kerr County Flood Disaster Joint Information Center announced the missing count dropped from at least 97 to three, marking a sharp decline from over 160 unaccounted.
In Kerr County’s Hill Country, historic flooding overwhelmed the Guadalupe River’s banks predawn July 4, and the Hill Country’s dry, dirt-packed soil hindered absorption, intensifying the surge.
Volunteer support surged, Gov. Greg Abbott reported 135 flood deaths, including 116 in Kerr County, and more than 12,000 volunteers bolstered search efforts on July 17.
Verification work by Kerr County teams confirmed many initially listed as missing as safe, and over 2,000 local, state, and federal personnel joined the recovery effort.
Two weeks after the July 4 floods, recovery operations continue across the Guadalupe River watershed, with multilevel teams working to reunite families.
